Where did it all begin?

Krista realized her love of acting while performing at the Ontario Drama festival, when during her big scene not even a fallen prop could break the moment.  An Outstanding Performance Award confirmed her suspicions.  After getting her degree at the University of Toronto and climbing the corporate ladder at Rogers Communications, she finally heard the stage calling her back home.  It took many years to realize that her childhood love was not a fluke and must be acted upon...

The Big Change

After moving back to the big city (T.O) and giving up her "day job", Krista has lived what seems another lifetime:  Becoming an avid traveller road-tripping across the east coast of Canada, being flown from Montreal to Calgary to Vancouver for TV shoots, rappelling in a Mayan centare, hosting a family Ceilidh on the Irish Sea and picking heather in the highlands of Dalwhinnie (her great uncle worked at the distillery).  But her true breakthrough was performing live as a lead player on the stage again, and singing in a classic rock band!

The Big Move
BIGGER
Krista's dream of working on the big screen finally found roots and wings in further traning with  Actors' Studio veteran and coach, Janine Manatis.  Learning to trust her powerful smile, humour and charm, she began starring in many national and U.S. national commercials, including "Pepsico", "Sears", "Ontario Tourism", "Contac C" and "Wal-Mart" with Designer Guys Steven and Chris (see her commercial reel if you need a reminder).

She landed her first Principal TV/Film role in the CBC docudrama "First and Last", followed by "Victor" (CBC, starring Peter MacNeil) and "She Drives Me Crazy" (U.S. Lifetime, alongside "The O.C's" Melinda Clarke).  Her depth and range only began to sprout with leading roles in "The Wake" (which won Best Experimental Film at the International Short Film Festival in Hamburg, Germany), "God Inc" (Youtube) and most recently "My Guy" (at Norman Jewison's Canadian Film Centre).  More to come...

During the shooting of Hilary Swank's movie "Amelia" last summer, director Mira Nair and Law and Order SVU star Mariska Hargitay praised Krista's spontaneity and creative spirit with: "I love it! That was fantastic!" (Mira), and "You don't know how thrilled I am about what you did... thank you for our moment!" (Mariska). Confirmation enough that Krista just might be on the right track.

Krista is helping to create a revolutionary Book by acting coach Janine Manatis called, "Actors' Exercises for Everybody".  (More on that work here.)
